Barrett Kent is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Pottsboro, TX who attends Pottsboro. Slender athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Throws from a slow paced side step delivery with a long and loose arm swing in back, 3/4's arm slot coming through, gets some downhill angle and stays on line well, gets to his velocity very easily with a low effort release, will get early with his front side at times and pull his pitches to the glove side. Fastball topped out at 95 mph with nice running action, threw plenty of 94-95's without hunting for them, had some riding life up in the zone. Also threw a short soft slider that he landed well and effectively acted as a change up for him. Strikes and velocity stand out. Good student, verbal commitment to Arkansas. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
