Joseph King is a 2019 C with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Redwood City, CA who attends Woodside HS. Tall and slender athletic build, lots of physical projection remaining. 7.28 runner, has very quick feet behind the plate defensively, very agile in his shifting, gets ride of the ball quickly on his throws, can improve his direction but makes accurate throws with very good arm strength, 1.82 best pop time. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow base with a rhythm hand hitch load, torques with his lower half well and creates leverage, squares up the ball well with some lift in his swing, has power potential as he gets stronger. Also pitched, legit two-way prospect. Turn and throw delivery with a good hip turn, short stride out front, high 3/4's arm slot, arm is quick and loose. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 92 mph, nice cutting action at times, works fastball low in zone. Slider is sharp and tight, very lively change up used once for a strikeout. Plays with energy. Good student, verbal commitment to Washington State.
