Ethan Jones is a 2024 SS/RHP, C, 3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Debary, FL who attends University. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and high waist, longer limbs with a lean and projectable build. Ran a 7.52 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows athleticism with a spring to his step, fields the ball out front, repeats actions, longer arm action on throws across the diamond. Graded out better from the outfield in this look, nice carry and accuracy on throws to intended base, glove plays out front, incorporates lower half nicely. Also pitched, side step moving into delivery, slight knee turn at top of belt high leg lift; works to a three-quarters release point with arm speed through the back. Controlled fastball well, topped out at 80 mph with some life to arm side and mixed a slider that showed tight, late break up to 70 mph; nice two pitch mix for strikes. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Creates nice bat speed through the zone with whip to the barrel and quickness to hands. Mostly on time with front foot timing trigger, occasionally opens front side early, shows back spin coming off the barrel to pull side and projects nicely with strength, works to all fields and shows upside.
