Thomas Carney is a 2024 SS/UT with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends St. Augustine. Medium frame with a lean and athletic build. Ran a 6.89 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, quick first step and good footwork on the dirt, works low and gets around the ball well, good receiver with clean hands out front and funnels through it well, stays on line with his release and showed solid arm strength on throws across. Lefthanded hitter, athletic look and works the barrel out well, compact and athletic stroke with solid bat speed already, swings it hard and able to lift with intent and showed flashes of real impact to the pull side. Good student. Named to 2022 Sunshine Rocky Mountain Showcase Top Prospect List.
