2023 13U/14U Northwest Prospect Showcase (08/26/2023 - 08/27/2023)

6-White vs. 4-Gray Highlights
8/28/2023 1:56:53 AM

Alex Nuncio (2028, Gresham, OR) threw two shutout innings for Team White. He was able to control his fastball to the gloveside getting away from right-handed barrels inducing weak contact. He also added an opposite field hit at the plate

Jacoby Showers (2028, Reaverton, OR) followed Nuncio and went two shutout innings of his own. The left hander has a deceptive delivery and where his fastball showed natural run/sink. He also mixed in a breaking ball that flashed sharp break.

Kell VanDehey (2027, Lake Oswego, OR) got the start for Team Gray and went three shutout innings and struck out two. VanDehey’s fastball proved hard to barrel showing natural sinking action to it getting off barrels.

Zachary Nelson (2027, Seattle, WA) had a loud line drive barrel into left of a hanging breaking ball. Nelson exhibited some of the best bat speed of the weekend. He also showed off some speed stealing the next two bases. Nelson was a standout pitcher yesterday.

Ethan Nguyen (2027, Mercer Island) continued to stay on barrel here in Day 2 where he had another line drive barrel. He caught the baseball out front and drove it into left for a single.

Noah Chong (2028, Renton, CA) had a loud line drive up the box. Chong keeps his hands loose and delivers the barrel on an uphill path with good extension through the baseball.

Seika Saito (2027, Issaquah, WA) collected his second hit of the day in Game 2. He got on top of a high fastball and drove it into the left-center gap for a double. Saito has a flatter bat path and has shown an ability to match planes.

Tanner Herdman (2027, Silverdale, WA) had a hard line drive single up the box and also collected a caught stealing as well from behind the plate.
