Padraic Bodenstein (2027 LHP, Scottsville, VA) missed a ton of bats in his three inning outing. The southpaw ran his heater up to 83 mph with late life from a low 3/4 slot. Bodenstein also flashed a short, tight slider and a split change with depth. He ended up with six strikeouts and only allowed two hits.
Walker McElwain (2027 1B, Alexandria, VA) shined on both sides of the ball. McElwain was 2-2 and had two strikeouts in two scoreless innings. There is solid feel for the barrel at the plate and feel to pitch with three offerings on the mound. The changeup stood out with great hand speed and trap door action.
James Van Der Post (2028 RHP, Round Hill, VA) went three scoreless innings with four strikeouts. He also added two hits and a stolen base on the offensive end.
Charles Diglio (2028 C, Lovettsville, VA) smoked a triple down the right field line for an RBI late in the game. Diglio keeps the hands tight with adjustability to match plane on inside pitches. There are good rotational traits here.
Hank Shih (2027 C, Centreville, VA) followed up an impressive BP with a solid in game performance. Shih's bat control carried over to the game with two base hits. He also showed off good instincts on the base paths with two stolen bases.
Caleb Brown (2027 OF, Springfield, VA) caught a couple barrels to the pull side. Brown can really leverage the baseball with quick hands and a loose stroke.
