2023 13U/14U Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase (08/19/2023 - 08/20/2023)

3 - Red vs. 4 - White Game Highlights
8/20/2023 4:26:58 PM

Brody Boyd (2027 RHP, Toms River, NJ) put together a productive performance on both sides of the ball. The 5-foot-10 right-hander struck out four batters over three innings of work while allowing just one hit. He located his fastball with short arm-side run well and topped it out at 76 mph. A shorter curveball made a few appearances later in counts that appeared to disrupt hitters' timing. At the plate, Boyd went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Christopher Perrotta (2027 SS, Sussex, NJ) went 2-for-2 with two singles. The 5-foot-9 right-handed hitter controlled the barrel well throughout the strike zone and displayed the ability to make proper adjustments to off-speed pitches. He showcased intriguing barrel skills and projects for more power moving forward.

Tyler Hager (2027 OF, Wall Township, NJ) showcased a mature approach at the plate with good command of the barrel in and around the zone. The 6-foot-3 right-handed hitter turned on a two-strike heater and lined it through the left-side for an RBI single.

Gavin Franchetti (2027 C, Atco, NJ) offers tons of intrigue as a hitter. The 5-foot-11 righty jumped on a first-pitch fastball and lined it right back up the middle for a single. He has nifty bat-to-ball skills and manipulates the barrel well around the strike zone.

Jamari Whitley (2027 RHP, Teaneck, NJ) punched out five hitters and allowed just one hit over three innings of work. The 5-foot-8 right-hander filled up the strike zone with his cutting fastball, topping it out at 76 mph. He also flashed a shorter curveball with a bit of horizontal tilt to it that was spun well.

Justin Kauffman (2027 OF, Manalapan, NJ) was on the barrel frequently in live action. The 5-foot-10 right-handed hitter highlighted his day by turning on a heater and lining it to left field for a single. He utilizes a repeatable, line drive stroke and remains poised at the plate.
