Robert Reina is a 2008 LHP with a 6'0'', 150 lb. frame from Coral Springs FL, who attends Coral Glades. Reina has a medium sized frame with a slender build. Reina pitches from a low 3/4 arm slot with a medium length arm action. He uses an upright delivery with tall and fall style mechanics. He pitches with low effort and maintains good balance through his delivery. Reina gets good sink on his fastball with occasional armside run. He throws a big breaking curveball that could use tighter spin on it to make it a bit sharper. His changeup is his best pitch as he gets heavy sink on it and maintains good armspeed as well. Reina could improve his weight transfer at finish as he vaults over his front foot. With improved weight transfer it will make velocity jumps happen easier. Reina fields his position well and hops off the mound to field ground balls and make plays. With a few adjustments, Reina could make large strides of improvement as he projects well on the mound.
