Nathan Rice is a 2027 SS/RHP/UT with a 5-4 120 lb. frame from Fuquayvarina, NC who attends Willow Spring High School. Young athlete with lean current build, good projection and plenty of time to add physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.57 seconds. Primary position IF, showing some hop to his step with good footwork and angles to the ball. Emerging overall glove work, securing the ball fine but will get more fluid with time. Shorter arm path building throws up to 71 mph across the diamond with scattered accuracy. Slow roller with two-hand approach. Made a spectacular sliding backhand play in game action, just played more free during live. Secondary RHP, working exclusively from the stretch and 3B side of rubber. Hands at the belt into standard inline arm path to classic 3/4 arm angle. Good front side direction and turns well in the core. Pounded the strike zone, especially landing offspeed effectively. True FB peaking at 71 mph and backed that up with SL in the low-60s with tighter spin and the right shape. Switch hitter, using narrow stance from the left side and works hands well through contact. Has busy feet here but finds the barrel a lot and it projects. RHH with same narrow setup and bigger hanging leg lift. Gathers well and swings with intent. Good looking hitter from both side, just needs time to get strong. Definitely a two-way prospect to follow longterm.
