Jose Luis Ortiz Rivera is a 2023 OF/MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Guayama, PR who attends Leadership Christian Academy. Recorded a 6.49 second 60-yard dash time. Athletic frame with lots of room to fill out. Primary outfielder with very quick feet and light, athletic actions. Good bounce to his step and moves very well. Excellent arm strength up to 97 mph into the infield. Arm strength also plays from secondary position of the infield. Right-handed hitter with an even base, closed stride, and a big leg lift. Keeps the hands inside well and has solid bat speed. Can get the barrel out to pull with a short, downhill swing plane. Great student. Verbal commitment to Houston.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
