Alex Gomez is a 2026 C/RHP/OF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Wesley Chapel, FL who attends Wiregrass Ranch. A bigger build with a larger lower half. Some strength showing in the build. Ran an 8.05 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who had open feet with a quick and short arm action on his throws down to second. The throws carried well and were on the bag accurately. Threw 71 mph from behind the plate with a 2.18 pop time. Projectable actions as a catcher showing good traits behind the dish in-game. Also worked out as an infielder, getting the ball funneled up the middle and showing throws at 74 mph with some strength behind it. His glove was good with corner-infield traits. A right-handed hitter with a wider base and hands set high with the back elbow up. Uses a small stride forward, keeping the hands back and getting the barrel through the zone. Worked pull-side during his round of BP. Picked up a base hit in-game. Took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher with projectable actions. Worked from the wind-up with a leg lift just below the letters. He pitched from a high three-quarters arm slot. The fastball was up to 76 mph and had some downhill plane. He paired it with a breaking ball that was solid with an 11-5 shape and spin a tick above 2,000 RPMs. He landed the breaker for strikes. Out of the stretch, he showed a shortened leg lift with a quick arm action. Quick feet on the mound with some athleticism, and picked off a kid at first. Overall, filled up the zone and competed during his outing. Efficient stuff. Struck out 3 hitters over 3.0 innings pitched.
