Sam Light is a 2026 RHP/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Virginia Beach, VA who attends Norfolk Academy. Medium frame with some strength in the frame. Ran 7.79 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher who had a longer arm action, pitching from a three-quarters arm slot. Gets the hand back with a noticeable scapular pinch as the lead arm points towards home and he begins his motion. His fastball had some life on it, working into the low-70s. Showed a breaking ball in the low- to mid-60s and changeup at 68 mph with some depth to it. Was athletic off the mound, hustling over to first and making an on-the-run catch at the base to secure an out. Also worked out as an outfielder, fielding off to his side, even with the knee, with longer action to get rid of the ball, with intent behind the throws. One-hopped them to the bag. Right-handed hitter who starts with a wide base and uses a small stride forward to get on time. Keeps the hands deep and then works the barrel through the zone. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
