2023 14U Deep South All-State Games
Hudson Smith is a 2027 C/MIF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Madison, AL who attends James Clemens. Smith ran a 7.62 Sixty Yard Dash. Primary catcher show a medium very athletic frame with some strength with plenty more to put on in the future. Behind the plate he worked with a staggered foot base with high set hips and solid fundamental actions. The arm stroke was very compact as he gets the ball out very fast with some cary to the bases with accuracy. The throws were up to 70mph with his best being a 2.09 pop time. Secondary middle infielder works around the ball well with a quick first step and range laterally. The glove gets down early with good presentation and quick glove to hand transfers. He works with a short compact arm with plenty of accuracy across the diamond with his throws. Right handed hitter starts with a medium set athletic base with a small leg lift trigger. The hands create good rhythm throughout the operation showing some quickness with slight tilt to the barrel hitting the ball hard on a line to the middle of the field. Hudson was named to the 2023 Deep South All State Games Top Prospect List.
