2022 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 15)
Carson Cherry is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Mooresville, NC who attends Lake Norman. Medium overall build with plenty of time and room to add over the coming years, nice athleticism and twitch to his actions. Ran the 60 yard dash in an amazing 6.48 seconds. Primary OF, with good bounce in his step, gets good reads and proper angles to the ball and keeps his feet moving through the play. Solid present arm strength making accurate throws with good carry up to 86 mph back to infield. RHH using toe tap to leg lift to initiate swing, which caused occasional timing issues but when on time there was loud contact. At his best when driving the ball the other way and showed good juice in his hands launching a couple deep drives to center and left center. Swings with intent and more to come. Exceptional student, performing at an elite level in the classroom as well.
