Mason Taylor is a 2024 RHP/2B, SS with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Gilbert. He ran a 8.40 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a average build showing room to fill out moving forward. On the mound he starts with a small side step to a belt high leg lift, the arm action works short through the back up to a high three-quarters slot, he throw the fastball primarily to the glove side at 66-69 mph with short arm side run, he showed young lower half mechanics with the ability to create more drive but does a nice job staying online and throwing into a stiff front side, the curveball showed 11-5 shape with room to improve intent and arm speed, the changeup showed as his best secondary with maintained arm speed, he is able to fill up the zone when he stays on line. On the infield he showed developing action with slow feet working around the ball and shuffling into his accurate throws with young arm strength. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base and low hand set, he times up the swing with a leg lift trigger using the middle of the field mostly, the barrel is in the zone a long time as he hits off his back side with young bat speed.Good student.
