Joseph (J.R.) Hoffman is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Dallas, GA who attends North Paulding. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.18 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, deliberate tempo to actions, utilizes a full arm path through the back, shows accuracy to the intended base on throws, can get more on throws with additional incorporation of lower half into release. Shows arm strength on throws across the diamond in the infield, higher slot on throws, will continue to refine overall actions. Also pitched, similar full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Showed a three pitch mix on the mound and consistently mixed, fastball topped out at 78 mph and sat mid-70s. Curveball shows nice break and depth to it up to 64 mph, worked on top of the pitch. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base in set up and loads weight onto backside at start. Stays connected in swing and shows present hand speed in swing. Linear path through the zone, longer swing path to point of contact but shows a handle for the barrel, best contact to the middle of the field. Excellent student. Named to the 14u Georgia All-State Top Prospect List.
