Anthony Edge is a 2023 RHP/C, SS with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Lake In The Hills, IL who attends Harry D Jacobs. Recorded a 7.48 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame, compact and stocky build with present strength. Primary right-handed pitcher, quick arm with a short and compact arm action, works at an up tempo pace and has very explosive and twitchy actions on the mound. Painted the low and outside corner with his fastball, the pitch showed late cutting life at times, also throws a 2-seam with sharp run. Drop and drive lower half mechanics, ball really jumps out of the hand and has deceptive speed that gets on you quick. Flashed a sharp curveball with 11-5 shape and good depth/tilt. Dominant outing overall, commands each pitch well, has some things to like on the mound and will continue to improve moving forward. Secondary infielder with good feel for the glove and soft hands, gets the ball out quick with carry across at 83 mph. Smooth and athletic actions with natural feel for the position, showed the ability to throw from multiple angles. Right-handed hitter with an even stance and a tight and deep hand set. Tended to pull off the ball and get overly rotational at times, shows some recoil at contact. Uphill swing path with a pull side approach, has quick hands. Excellent student.
