Collin Hoskins is a 2022 C/RHP, 3B, SS, OF with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Urbana, IA who attends Center Point-Urbana. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a balanced, even stance while receiving the baseball. Showed soft hands while receiving pitches to both edges of the plate. Gains ground while working out of crouch with clean, compact footwork. Quicker exchanges across check and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 74 mph. Best workout pop time of 1.90. Right handed hitter with a spread stance and simple leg lift trigger. Worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Compact hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout swing with good feel for the barrel. Primarily worked to the middle of the field but flashed the bat head control to work to all fields. Also pitched utilizing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Creates slight hip coil at gather and released from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated natural running action to arm side in the mid 70's, topped at 77 mph. Curveball showed slurve like action to glove side with good sweep in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering that generated occasional sink in the low 70's. Good student.
