Kellen Roberts is a 2023 RHP/IF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Monroe, MI who attends Monroe. He has a large frame with a strong build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.40 seconds. Primary right-handed pitcher that uses a small sidestep to start his delivery and utilizes a knee above the belt leg kick. He uses drop-and-drive back leg mechanics and does a nice job of staying on balance throughout his motion. He works down the mound and in line with the plate well. He has a long arm action and fires from a 3/4 arm slot. He was aggressive going after hitters with his fastball that has good life and cutting action through the zone. His off speed pitch is a slider that has tight break and nice downer action. He showed good feel for both pitches and was in the zone throughout his outing. Secondary infielder that had good footwork and was aggressive in fielding the ball. He transfers the ball cleanly from his glove to his throwing hand and showed similar arm strength here as he did on the mound. Right-handed hitter that starts in an even base with an upright stance and a high back elbow. He uses a simple leg lift trigger for timing. His swing is smooth with plenty of strength to drive the ball when he makes contact out in front of the plate. Named to the Great Lakes Indoor (Sunday) Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
