Oz Eckard is a 2024 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Canton, GA who attends Woodstock. Big and tall young body with lots of present strength and room for plenty more. 7.36 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has young fundamental actions behind the plate defensively but plenty of athleticism and arm strength, can get rushed and long at times, especially with his upper half, receives the ball well, will keep improving with repetitions. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a short lift and replace load, is well timed and hits under control, upper body rotational swing with some extension through contact, works gap to gap with some future power potential, good base swing to grow into. Also pitched, has a well paced pretty low effort delivery with a mid 3/4's arm slot. Fastball worked in the low 80's, mostly straight, worked down in the zone consistently with good command, primary fastball pitcher. Change up was his best secondary pitch with nice fading action, also flashed a short curveball. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
