Zachary Steagall is a 2023 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Sunset Beach, NC who attends West Brunswick. Lean and long athletic build, projects well physically. Simple side step/leg raise delivery with good balance over the rubber, gets good drive down the mound from his lower half, extended 3/4's arm slot with some looseness coming through and out front. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, plenty more velocity there as he gets stronger, gets some sink and run to his fastball and gets ground balls when he's down in the zone. Still developing consistency in his curveball release point, flashes good 1/7 shape and break to it when he's on top of it and out front. 7.44 runner, has solid athletic actions in the outfield on defense with a long and loose arm stroke that makes accurate one hop throws. Right handed hitter, starts from an open stance with a big late stride into contact, dips into his swing, downhill swing path. Good student.
