Trey Morris is a 2025 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Fresno, CA who attends Washington Union. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran an 8.13 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, very smooth and easy operation on the mound, works across body and generates real angle at release while working to an extended three-quarters release point. Pounds the strike zone and can work to either corner with intent, topped out at 86 mph with the fastball and able to miss plenty of bats, mostly true in life, recorded all 9 outs via strikeout, gets to glove side very easily. Maintained velocity well, showed a straight changeup at 77 mph and mixed a curveball with some depth up to 70 mph, tends to slow on its release. Smooth actions around the first base bag and comfort hopping off, fields the ball out front, smooth hands, solid arm strength and carry on throws. Left-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and upright stance in the box; utilizes lower half well in swing. Swings with big intent and looks to impact at point of contact, generates loft out front, looseness to swing throughout and handles the barrel well. Very good student. Named to the 2021 PG Select Festival.
