Bryceton Berry is a 2023 SS/RHP/UT with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Attica, NY who attends Notre Dame. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned. Ran a 6.99 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, deliberate actions in the dirt, fields it out front with a clean funnel into body, some bend at waist, maintains slot on throws, occasionally gets uphill lat release, shows arm strength and carry on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, full wind up on the mound, works to a three-quarters release point; mixes two pitches and settled in with command to pound the zone, fastball topped out at 81 mph and maintained throughout. Able to miss bats, velocity projects, slurvey finished to breaking ball but shows comfort in the pitch up to 72 mph. Left-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Lofted swing path through the zone with some present impact strength to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Gets the barrel through the zone well and collected fa few knocks in game, staying simple with his mechanics and showing a feel for the barrel, projects well with added strength. Very good student.
