2022 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 6)
Hector Rullan Rodriguez is a 2023 C/IF, OF with a 6-4 187 lb. frame from Randolph, MA who attends BYOU Academy. Long and lean frame with tremendous projection and ample current muscularity. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.99 seconds but as a power oriented player that is less of a factor. Primary position C, uses a narrow base and slightly off set stance with a relaxed start. Displayed quick exchange, working hand right to ear for short arm path getting velocity up to 74 mph from behind the dish with a 2.00 best pop time. Does get a little high in his legs in transition, he is a big athlete and can refine with time. Also repped on the IF, working deliberately through his angles, glove work is present and created very impressive velocity up to 89 mph across the diamond. RHH with wider inline stance, toe tap trigger and transfers well to his front side. Really turns the top hand over hard and there is strength at impact as he works his pull oriented approach. LHH using a hanging leg lift from his wide and open stance. Fluid hands and on plane bat path with some loft to his pull side contact. Good foundation with more bat speed ahead of him with muscular development. Outstanding student.
