Emil Caraballo is a 2020 C/ with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends Evander Childs Educational Complex. Medium and stocky frame with strength present especially in his lower half. Ran a 7.74 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, worked out behind the plate with a high set position, receives the baseball out in front with two hands, gains ground into throws and works through the baseball, will continue to get quicker with reps, 2.18 best pop time in drills and 2.56 best pop time in game. Righthanded hitter, sets up with an even stance and a high hand set at the plate, toe tap triggers into contact, creates some barrel whip through the hitting zone, looks to lift with jump off the barrel when squared, hips fire well creating solid bat speed, repeats swing and shows a pull side approach. Good student.
