Lane Scott is a 2021 SS/RHP, 1B, 2B, MIF, IF with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Carl Sandburg. Long and wiry frame with some current strength but loads of room to add bulk. Ran a 7.19 in the sixty yard dash. A primary infielder, plays with a lot of energy and works hard through the ball during his approach. The glove works and he shows solid arm strength with plenty of carry to stay on the left side of the infield. Also worked out at first base and turns well on double plays, showing good arm strength and adds versatility to the profile. A right-handed hitter, starts narrow with his base with a flat path from launch with solid bat speed. Top hand dominant and fires it hard to contact. Good eye-hand coordination. A secondary pitcher, compact delivery with a short stride that he repeats. High 3/4 release and gets some sink to the fastball that he controls in the zone. Can vary the shape and velocity of the 11/5 shaped curveball with solid bite when he throws it with intent. Very good student.
