Dean Cappelletti is a 2026 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Benson, NC who attends West Johnston. Large frame. Ran a 9.00 second 60 yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works from a closed stretch position, pitches exclusively from the stretch, strides closed and cuts himself off, works over his front side and creates good cutting action at release, loose and whippy arm action up to a 3/4 arm slot. Fastball topped out at 71 mph with cutting life, mixes in a slider that shows added extension from cutting fastball, throws strikes and is very effective due to angle of both offerings. Secondary corner infielder, fields the ball out in front from a high gather bending at the waist, moves to the ball with short strides, upper half mostly used with his release from a loose arm, topped out at 70 mph across the diamond. Also took drills in the outfield, fields the ball out in front and brings the ball into his body, accurate with his throws, threw out multiple runners from the outfield in game action. Right-handed hitter, open stance and a high hand set in the batter's box, leg lift trigger used into contact, shows a feel for the barrel on a line drive swing plane, swings with intent and creates advanced bat speed, mostly compact swing and creates some jump off of the barrel especially to the pull side.
