Trevin Long is a 2023 SS/RHP, C, 2B with a 5-7 145 lb. frame from Battle Ground, WA who attends Battle Ground. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame, has room to grow and fill out moving forward. Ran a 6.99 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and gets low behind the ball, quickness working to backhand, quick transfer and release and shows carry across diamond, maintained balance nicely on charge, repeats actions. Also pitched, simple mechanics on the mound, high leg kick at top of delivery, short arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, comes out of hand well and mixed a curveball with comfort, 11-5 shape up to 65 mph with short life; tends to slow release on straight changeup. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with a slightly open stance, gets closed moving into contact with leg lift. Swings with intent and creates whip in the barrel, stays short to the ball and handles the barrel well. Contact oriented approach, strength projects, works to all parts of the field with line drive contact. Very good student. Named to West Coast Top Prospect List.
