Cole Gilmore is a 2025 C/RHP, IF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Newnan, GA who attends Newnan. Smaller, athletic build with time to continue to add strength. 7.76 runner in the sixty. Right-handed hitter with a narrow stance and high hands, uses a toe-tap trigger to start the swing, level path through the zone. Up the middle approach was evident as he sprayed liners all over the field, got better as the round went. Primary catcher with a high, side-saddle setup. Good receiver with a clean, efficient exchange and accurate throws to the bag, recorded throws up to 69 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with good athleticism on the mound. Works from a full, hands over the hand delivery with a belt high leg lift to balance, longer arm circle in the back to a three-quarters release. Whippy arm action and mixed speeds effectively. Fastball up to 77 mph (2031 RPM), slider up to 63 mph (1828 RPM), and a changeup up to 66 mph (1609 RPM). Also worked out in the infield, right side of the infield profile, has good movements to both sides with a deep funnel, good exchange and ability to throw from different angles. Recorded throws up to 75 mph. Excellent student. Named to 2022 Fall Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
