Maxwell Gutierrez is a 2022 2B/SS, OF with a 5-8 120 lb. frame from Algonquin, IL who attends Huntley. Compact build with room to fill out. Ran a 8.31 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infielder. Displayed clean footwork working to and through the ball in the infield. Flashed good range working to both sides of the infield to go along with soft hands and confident glove actoins. Showed clean transfers into throws with developing arm strength and accurate carry across the diamond topping out at 63 mph to first base. Right handed hitter. Employs an even stance with a toe tap trigger. Displayed a flat barrel path to and through the baseball getting extended well. Flashed a middle of the field to pull side ground ball and line drive approach. Showed good barrel control creating consistent line drive and ground ball contact throughout batting practice. Great student.
