Leonardo Salas is a 2023 3B/RHP, 1B, OF with a 6-0 230 lb. frame from Haltom City, TX who attends Richland. Recorded a 7.09 second sixty yard dash time. Large frame and thick build with present strength, moves pretty well for his size. Primary third baseman, works hard to get into position and shows developing quickness and lateral range. Choppy footwork and developing glove work at present, may fit best at first base long term. Also took reps in the outfield, breaks down and fields it out front, utilizes a very short arm action with limited extension. Developing outfield actions, will improve as he plays through the ball more. Really shined with the bat in his hands during this event. Right-handed hitter with an open stance and a leg lift trigger, has raw strength in the swing and can impact the ball with authority to his pull side. Long swing path, generates big time carry when on time and squared, hit multiple balls to the wall in both BP and games. Great student. Named to the 2021 Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
