Nano Mendoza is a 2024 3B/RHP, IF with a 5-11 200 lb. frame from Lubbock, TX who attends New Deal. Large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran an 8.98 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front and works into a longer arm action and release on throws across, shows carry to throws along with accuracy, effort at release, footwork will continue to develop working towards the ball. Also pitched, side step moving into a belt high leg lift, creates nice direction with a short stride down the mound; similar long arm action working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, creates some extension with effort at release and generates some heavy life to heater when down in the zone. Worked to both sides of the plate, flashed nice depth on CB with 11-5 shape; filled the zone with a nice combo of pitches. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Easy swing and looks to impact at the point of contact, occasionally gets uphill with path looking to lift. Uses strength well and shows ability to power the ball to all fields with occasional back spin, repeats approach well.
