2021 March Northern CA Workout Camp Sunday
Easton O'Neal is a 2024 C/RHP/SS with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Spokane, WA who attends West Valley. Large frame with a lean build and plenty of room to fill out. Ran a 7.49 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, works through the ball well with good momentum during his transfers, shows sound footwork throughout and has good arm strength producing strong and accurate throws to the bag. Also worked out in the infield, waits back on the ball some but funnels it with soft hands and showed he could throw well on the move. Pitches as well, has a quick arm and gets good extension through a three-quarters slot generating some running life to the fastball while showing developing feel for both a curveball and changeup. Switch-hitter, grades out better on the left side where he is more explosive with good leverage of his hands and good length through the zone while controlling the barrel well. Shows he can hit with some lag from the left side. Long path on the right side but struggles at times to get the barrel out and impact with authority. Great student.
