Leyton Howell is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-6 180 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. John's. Tall and slender build with huge amounts of room to fill out and get stronger. Compact turn and throw delivery with good balance over the rubber, 3/4's arm slot with a loose and long arm action, low effort mechanics and release, can bend and get over his front side more consistently. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight, worked primarily with his fastball while flashing a straight change up and short slurve type breaking ball. Still growing into his body and heading in the right direction with his delivery and mechanics. Very good student.
