LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Gonzalez is a 5-9 left handed hitting middle infielder from Miami with a compact body and good present strength. This kid can rake. He has very good coiling action in his set up with high hands and a high leg raise trigger. Every thing uncoils smoothly and balanced through contact and Gonzalez generates very good bat speed. He hands are quick to the ball and he has loft and power in his swing. Gonzalez had a couple of doubles and a triple against live pitching and might have gone 10/10 with hits in batting practice. As a bonus, Gonzalez showed very good plate discipline in the games. He should be an impact hitter at the next level. Gonzalez is a pretty good defensive player, too. He ran the 60 in 7.14 in workouts and threw 80 mph across the infield. His arm strength played much better in games and one of the PG scouts felt Gonzalez had a present big league arm at shortstop. His range was very good and he made plays. Overall, Gonzalez is just a really nice player who is going to have great success in the future.
