Ciaran Caughey is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Hartland, MI who attends Orchard Lake St. Marys Prep. Medium frame with slender, highly-projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.01 seconds. Stands out on the mound, athletic and repeatable delivery, arm speed stands out, high three quarters slot with good direction to the plate, fastball worked 84-87 mph with good plane and command of it, mixed in a curveball with sharp 11/5 shape and plenty of depth, also flashed a changeup. Hits from spread stance with wrapped start, separates well and torques hips into swing well, good bat speed with clean stroke, covers the plate well and shows consistent barrel skills with a whole-field approach and projectable pop. Worked out in the infield, clean hands and overall actions, fields well and stays balanced and quick through transfer and gather, clocked up to 86 mph across the diamond. Excellent student, named to 2020 Great Lakes Indoor Top Prospect List.
