Cole Girard is a 2023 SS/RHP, 3B with a 5-5 110 lb. frame from Oklahoma City, OK who attends Piedmont. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean, projectable frame, has room to grow with physicality moving forward. Ran an 8.06 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, high energy actions moving towards the ball, extra step through it on release, works into a long arm action through the back, inconsistent release but shows carry and accuracy when on top. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch with a leg lift up to belt and gets tall on backside; high lead arm in front side mechanics with a long arm action and a three-quarters release point. Pitched to contact, fastball topped out at 65 mph and mixed a curveball showing 12-6 shape with short depth. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and lower back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Loads hands back at start of swing, swings with intent and looks to pull the ball at point of contact. Best contact when getting extended out front, occasionally mistimed, full swing path through the zone. Very good student.
