Landon Costa is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Swedesboro, NJ who attends Gloucester County Institute of Technology. Medium, projectable frame with long limbs and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.01 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, full windup on the mound with quick pace, drop and drive mechanics through lower half while working to a lower three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 76 mph, does a nice job of filling the strike zone and generates short running life to arm side with release point. Worked to both halves of the plate, mixes in a sharp breaking ball up to 66 mph, maintained fastball velocity well over 3 innings of work. Tends to stay back on the baseball in the infield, receives out front and funnels into body, taller release and works to a higher slot on throws, shows lateral range when moving and the ability to change arm slots. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a flatter hand set with a high back elbow at the plate. Upper body dominant swing, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box, full swing path through he zone, keeps hands inside, contact oriented approach, best when on a linear plane. Excellent student.
