Mauricio De Leon is a 2021 OF/MIF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita. Ran a 7.04-second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with an athletic frame with room to fill out and add strength. Has clean footwork to the ball, moving well through the fielding process with present athleticism. Carries momentum well into throws, showcasing good arm strength with accurate throws up to 80 mph. Secondary second baseman that showcases good footwork and some quickness to the transfer. Shows similar arm strength up to 78 mph. Right-handed hitter that starts from a tall and open stance, with a high back elbow and line drive barrel plane through the zone. Has developing bat speed and control of the barrel, shifting well to contact with a middle of the field approach. Flashes some feel for the barrel with developing strength at the point of contact. Good student.
