Zach Johnson is a 2022 OF/RHP/IF with a 6-4 176 lb. frame from Moody, AL who attends Moody. Long and slender athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with limited lower half shift into contact, upper body driven swing, has good hand quickness and does a nice job of keeping his swing short for his length, uphill swing plane with good leverage at times, shows power to the pull side and created good back spin at times. Lots of hitting potential. 6.88 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has a long and loose arm stroke in the outfield with good carry on his throws, also plays some infield but outfield is his position. Took a turn on the mound, has a full windup with a big side step start, high leg lift over the rubber, mid to low 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with good cutting action, also threw a sweeping slider from the same arm slot. Projects more velocity in the future on the mound. Good student. Named to the Sunshine Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
