Rj Ross is a 2023 1B/LHP with a 6-2 236 lb. frame from Kansas City, KS who attends Bishop Ward. Extra large young build, has a chance to be a very strong young man if he works at it. Has smooth actions around first base defensively, stays balanced and makes accurate throws, will have to continue to work on his quickness and agility. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread closed start with an exaggerated coil and bat wrap, set up creates length in his swing, aggressive hitter who swings hard and is looking to pull and drive the ball, ball comes off the barrel hard when squared. Has the bat speed and barrel skills to hit but will have to improve his set up and direction to contact. Also pitched, works from the stretch, hides the ball well and has some deception in his delivery. Upper 60's fastballs have very consistent cutting action and are thrown for strikes. Has feel for his curveball and lands it for strikes, very consistent over two innings. Good student.
