Michael Pustelnik is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Tinley Park, IL who attends Victor J Andrew. Medium, square shouldered build with long limb and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.12 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, gets tall on backside during leg lift up to belt with a hip turn at top; stays short through the back with arm stroke while working to an extended three-quarters release point. Strides open with front side; fastball topped out at 67 mph with occasional cut action, pitches to contact and able to stay off barrels. Works out of the stretch, showed ability to mix curveball for strikes, worked the glove side with 54 mph offering. Fields the ball out front at first base, longer stride moving into release with full arm action, comes out clean, arm strength will continue to develop, short steps on the charge. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a lower hand set, keeps hands low through load. Short stroke and keeps hands inside the ball, occasionally opens front side early with weight shift. Works all fields with contact and gets the barrel through the zone with occasional lift.
