Ashton Kampa is a 2023 1B/LHP with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Wind Lake, WI who attends Muskego. Recorded a 7.69 second 60 yard dash time. Big frame and thick build. Primary first baseman, circles it well with smooth footwork, has a good understanding of the fundamentals. Showed the ability to drop slot, has a quick release with good carry across at 81 mph. Clean round overall. Secondary left-handed pitcher with a big leg kick above the belt, really sinks into the back hip. Rears back and fires with drop and drive lower half mechanics. Short arm action that stays in line on the way back, utilizes a short stride down the mound. Limited feel for the curveball, threw primarily fastballs in this look. Left-handed hitter with an even base and a lift and replace trigger. Limited load or weight transfer within the swing, stays directional and gets the hips through. Hands tend to drag behind at times, shows a short swing path with bat speed present. Good balance and extension, looks to pull, will improve as he uses the strength in his lower half more actively.
