Ramiro Montiel is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Duncanville. Medium build with plenty of room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, is meticulous with his reads off the bat. Glove works well out in front, stays in front of the ball, good carry on his throws across the diamond. From the outfield, fields out in front and makes the same reads off the bat. Takes care of the ball well, gather and transfer are clean, throws stay on line to all bags. On the mound, has a longer arm action from a three-quarters to high three-quarters slot. Pronates at the window, some heavy run to his fastball up to 81 mph. Some good violence to his drop and drive actions down the hill. Mixes in two separate breaking balls, both with good depth and late bite to the plate. At the plate, uses an upright and wide stance with a stride trigger. Handsy overall foundation, short stroke, middle to pull side approach. Hands work down through the zone well.
