Gavin Kennedy is a 2024 2B/RHP, 3B, SS, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Chester, VA who attends Matoaca. Medium, athletic frame with long levers and plenty of room to add strength moving forward. Primary infielder with first step quickness, good lateral range and tons of athleticism during the fielding process. Displayed proper footwork into the fielding process, a clean funnel and lightning quick exchange into release. Showed ability to change angles when necessary and recorded arm strength up to 86 mph across during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with good movement patterns and athleticism down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-80s for the majority of his outing with occasional jumps into the mid-80s and topped out at 86 mph in this look. Adds some deception with slight changes in arm slot but worked mostly from a higher three-quarters arm slot with plenty of arm speed. Mixed in developing secondary offerings with slurve shaped breaking ball that has some sweep to it and slightly faded change. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and small leg lift trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with quickness to his hands and the ability to impact the baseball with authority from gap-to-gap. Pretty simple, repeatable stroke with feel for the barrel and physical upside. Athletic, projectable talent with room to expand overall tools and add strength. Two-way upside with offensive prowess.
