Sammy Kelley is a 2024 2B/RHP, C, OF with a 5-7 130 lb. frame from Grapevine, TX who attends Grapevine. Small and young frame with room to fill throughout. Ran an 8.32 second 60 yard dash. Primary second baseman, worked out in the infield moving to the ball with short strides, hands are playable into a clean transfer and faster release to first base, throws from a low arm slot up to 68 mph across the diamond. Secondary righthanded pitcher, tempo to his delivery with a high hand separation into the take back of his arm, uses a full arm action up to a low ¾ arm slot, creates a tough angle to the plate with his 3 pitch mix, fastball tops out at 73 mph, mixed in an effective knuckleball and sharp curveball with downward bite. Also worked behind the plate, comes out of his crouch with a low transfer to barehand, short stride into release, accurate throws and developing arm strength. Worked out in the outfield as well, similar actions to the infield rounding it well, crow hops through gather, topped out at 70 mph from the outfield. Lefthanded hitter, active hands at load, closes off moving into contact, rotational swing with length to his path, young bat speed and gets the barrel to the baseball well.
