Anthony Lira is a 2024 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-2 225 lb. frame from Citrus Heights, CA who attends Oakmont. Large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, glove plays well at the ball and picked the backhand cleanly, moves well to either side, solid arm strength across the diamond with accuracy and sound footwork. Stays low behind the ball at first base, fields it out front, similar solid glove work at the ball and moves well away from bag, made accurate throws. Also pitched, side step moving into a belt high leg lift; full arm circle through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Low effort release and worked around the zone, fastball topped out at 79 mph, projects for more velocity; tends to slow on release of curveball at present, up to 59 mph with the pitch. Right-handed hitter, begins with a balanced set up and an even hand set; utilizes a low leg lift moving into contact for timing. Incorporates physical strength well into swing, loose stroke through the zone with leverage to path. Gets on plane well and creates extension out front, ball jumps to both gaps with consistent back spin off of the barrel. Very good student. Named to NorCal Workout Top Prospect List.
