Aidan Young is a 2022 1B/OF with a 6-0 220 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Albuquerque Academy. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned well throughout frame, incorporates strength well into actions. Ran a 7.59 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, takes short steps on the charge off the bag, fields the ball out front, shorter arm stroke through the back, shows carry to throws and accurate across the diamond, overall actions will continue to develop off the bag. Similar arm action from the outfield, fields ball to the side, mostly arm at release and can continue to incorporate lower half into release. Righthanded hitter begins with a spread and open stance in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at start of swing and loads hands back with first movement. Upper body dominant swing, strength to hands and able to impact baseball when squared and connected for loud double in game to straight away center. Creates some separation in swing and will continue to unlock additional power with weight shift, shows bat speed with jump to all fields. Good student.
