Adam Valiente is a 2005 catcher/third baseman from Miami Florida with a slender build at 5 ft. 11 165 pounds. He hits from a tall stance with a small load and little or no stride. His bat takes a good path to the ball and he has a line drive approach with good extension. He centered on the ball well at and made solid hard contact with line drives to all fields. He has the potential to hit for power with added strength. Behind the plate, he receives the ball well with soft hands. He has light feet and moves well side to side. He popped a 2.07 during the workouts with good arm strength at 76 mph. with a smoother transfer and quicker release he will have sub 2.00 pop times. He will be a solid defensive catcher at the next level.
