2019 PG South Top Prospect Games at Texas A&M
Max Mims is a 2020 OF/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Friendswood, TX who attends Friendswood. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Very good runner, 6.58 at the 2019 PG Sunshine South Showcase. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a very short shift into contact, one-piece upper body swing with a line drive swing plane, stays on plane with the ball for a long time, can definitely make adjustments to use his strong twitchy lower half more to create bat speed, middle of the field line drive contact. Speed plays well in the outfield, aggressive to the ball and through his throws, can improve his footwork and direction throwing. Also pitched, fastball topped out at 82 mph, used a straight change up as his secondary pitch. Key to development will be making adjustments to unlock more bat speed. Good student.
